Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How does SongPulse detect BPM and key?
SongPulse uses on-device audio processing directly on your iPhone. No internet connection is needed — everything runs locally and privately.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. SongPulse requires no internet connection. All analysis runs entirely on your device.
What is Camelot notation?
Camelot notation is a DJ-friendly key system that makes it easy to find harmonically compatible tracks for mixing. SongPulse automatically shows the Camelot number alongside the musical key.
What audio files can I import?
You can import audio files directly from your iPhone. SongPulse supports common audio formats provided by iOS.
How does the Practice Tempo Map work?
Record yourself playing and SongPulse automatically analyzes your tempo every 10 seconds. You'll see tempo consistency, a stability score, and BPM changes over time displayed in a visual chart.
How do I compare two songs?
Import two audio files using the compare feature. SongPulse will show you the BPM difference, tempo variation, and stability comparison of both tracks side by side.
How can I report a bug?
Send us an email with a screenshot, a short description of what happened, and your device info (iPhone model + iOS version).
Accuracy
SongPulse provides accurate BPM and key detection for most tracks. For very short recordings or music with irregular rhythm (e.g. free improvisation), accuracy may vary.
Microphone access
SongPulse requires microphone access to analyze tracks in real time. If you haven't granted access, go to Settings → SongPulse → Microphone.
Audio is never recorded or stored. Analysis happens exclusively live on-device.
Privacy
SongPulse does not upload any audio and collects no personal data. No account is required. Everything runs entirely on your iPhone.
